Every Print Has a Story — The Heart Behind Story of Print Collection
Share
Every collection starts with a story — and this one begins close to my roots.
Growing up in Gujarat, I was surrounded by the colors and crafts of our rich textile traditions. Two prints have always stood out to me — the intricate Bandhani and the bold, earthy Block Print. These crafts are more than just patterns; they carry generations of stories, skill, and culture. That’s why I wanted to create a collection that honors these art forms in a way that feels fresh and wearable today.
With Story of Print, I’m sharing my love for Indian crafts and the deep connection I feel to these prints. Each piece in this collection is a celebration of heritage, made with respect and care. It’s about embracing tradition while bringing something new to your everyday wardrobe.
The Dance of Bandhani
Bandhani is more than a fabric — it’s a tradition of patience, precision, and love. Each dot you see is tied by hand, sometimes hundreds or thousands on a single piece, by women artisans who have been doing this all their lives.
I travelled to Jamnagar, Gujarat, to watch the process up close. The printing of the base design, the careful tying of each knot, the dipping into natural dyes, and finally — the magical moment of untying to reveal patterns that were hidden all along. It’s slow, it’s mindful, and it’s one of the reasons I fell in love with slow fashion.
The Rhythm of Block Printing
Block printing has its own charm — it’s like watching music in motion. The craftsman dips the carved wooden block into natural dye, aligns it perfectly, and presses it onto the fabric.
Each stamp leaves behind not just a print, but an imprint of tradition. The slight variations in every repeat are what make block print so beautiful — no two pieces are ever exactly the same. I love using block print fabrics for their texture, their depth, and the way they carry the marks of human hands.
Bringing Them Together at Cutestcharm
In this collection, you’ll see Bandhani and Block Print in soft cottons, breezy silhouettes, and easy everyday wear. Each piece is designed to be as comfortable as it is beautiful — clothes you can wear from morning chai to evening walks, knowing they’ve been made slowly and thoughtfully.
When you wear them, you carry not just a garment, but the stories of the artisans from Gujarat and Rajasthan — their skill, their pride, and their heritage.
